ICE at Your Home

✅ DO THIS:

  • Stay calm and silent
  • Ask to see a warrant through the door
  • Record the interaction if safe
  • Call emergency hotline immediately
  • Contact your attorney
  • Ask agents to slide warrant under door

❌ DON'T DO THIS:

  • Don't open the door
  • Don't let them in without a judicial warrant
  • Don't answer questions
  • Don't sign anything
  • Don't run or hide
  • Don't lie about your identity

🔑 Important: Types of Warrants

Administrative warrant = NOT enough to enter your home. Judicial warrant = Signed by a judge, allows entry. Always ask to see it and verify it's judicial.

🚗

Traffic Stops & Street Encounters

  • Stay calm and keep hands visible - Don't make sudden movements
  • Ask "Am I free to leave?" - If yes, calmly walk away

  • Don't consent to searches - Clearly state "I do not consent"
  • Record if possible - Use your phone or ask bystanders to film
  • Never run - This can be used against you in court

📱 What to Say:

  • "I am exercising my right to remain silent"
  • "I do not consent to any searches"
  • "I want to speak to my attorney"
  • "Am I being detained or am I free to go?"

  • Don't carry false documents - This is a serious crime
  • Have emergency contacts ready - Memorize important phone numbers
  • Know your workplace rights - Employers cannot help ICE without warrants
  • Document everything - Take photos/video if safe to do so

⚠️ Sensitive Locations

ICE generally avoids schools, hospitals, churches, and courthouses. These are considered "sensitive locations" but this policy can change.
